Our site supports OpenID. This means that you can associate your OpenID identity with your account on our site (wither when you create that account or later). You can then log into us using your OpenID identity.

How to I link my account here to my OpenID Identity?

Assuming you have an existing OpenID Identity, there are basically 2 cases:

  1. You have an existing PragProg account you want to link to that identity:
    1. Visit your account profile page at http://pragprog.com/my_profile
    2. Click on the link to “Change the OpenID identity associated with your Pragmatic Bookshelf account.” at the bottom of the Login Information box.
    3. Enter your OpenID Identity on the page that’s displayed. You’ll be taken to your registar’s site to confirm, and then everything will be set up.
  2. You want to create a PragProg account linked to your OpenID Identity:
    1. Visit our login page at https://pragprog.com/login, and click the Sign Up Now button at the lower-right.
    2. On the next page, click on I want to use my OpenID identity at the top of the page.
    3. You’ll be asked to give your identity, and (if you’re not already verified) you’ll have to verify with your OpenID provider. You’ll then get returned to our account creation screen. Your name and email address may have been filled in from informationa ssociated with your OpenID profile.

How do I log in to the PragProg site using OpenID

On the login page, click on “log in using OpenID” next to the OpenID logo.
