How are the screencasts different from the books?

The screencasts use audio and video to show you how to do something. Being able to see code change and grow, and hearing the screencaster’s voice explain exactly what is going on, is a different way to learn than reading through the books.

The material and examples taught in the screencasts are different than the books so you can learn from a different perspective. The screencasts are not merely recordings of what’s already in the books. Instead, we’ve designed the screencasts to complement the books.

Do I have to watch each episode in order?

Not necessarily. Source code is available for each episode, including all of the work that has been done up to that point. So, you can pop in to episodes out of order and have the code you need to get started.

How many episodes will be released for any given series?

Honestly, we don’t always know. We generally try to release all the planned episodes when the series is announced. Sometimes that’s not feasible, and instead we’ll release them incrementally over time.

If you’ve purchased an episode in a particular screencast series, and your account is configured to receive e-mail announcements from us, we’ll send you an e-mail when new episodes are released for that series.

We can’t accept returns of any screencasts. Once purchased, they cannot be refunded.
