Only a few people can read a book and extract from it the key concepts. Only a few people can be prescient enough to anticipate what future readers will need to find, and how they’ll look for it. If you’re one of these people, and if you’re comfortable with inline indexing using XML markup and Subversion, come index for us.

Your job is to create an index—not a concordance, but a true index of the concepts, tasks, ideas and important bits that a reader wants to find now. It’s not an academic exercise just because “a book needs an index,” but a valuable tool for the reader to get the most of the book.

Compensation is on a per-book, 1099 (independent contractor) basis.
