• Final beta before typesetting. Some last-minute changes to the compatibility tables to reflect browser support have been made. Many minor typographical errors and inconsistencies have also been fixed.

• This release marks the book as content-complete – on to production.

• This release contains the rest of the tips, including a section on audio and video support, a new tip using CSS3 media queries, and a tip on using HTML5’s offline manifest. You’ll also find sections on cross document messaging, History manipulation, and Web Sockets, as well as a section on Geolocation.

• There’s a new jQuery primer for those of you who need a little introduction, and a final chapter where we discuss a few things that are not quite ready for widespread use, like WebGL, CSS Transitions, and IndexDB.

This release includes a new chapter, “Eye Candy,” which includes three new tips. You’ll learn how to add rounded corners to form fields, work with shadows, transformations, and gradiants, and you’ll see how to work with fonts. As always, you’ll see how you can accomplish these effects in browsers that don’t offer native support.
