Installing RVM

This command didn’t work for me.

$ bash < <(curl -s https://rvm.beginrescueend.com/install/rvm)

Instead, I followed the directions found on the official RVM website.

Install RVM $ curl -L get.rvm.io | bash -s stable<code>$ source ~/.rvm/scripts/rvm</code> Find the requirements (follow the instructions) <code>$ rvm requirements</code> Install ruby <code>$ rvm install 1.9.3</code> h1. Installing Rails After your run <code>gem install rails</code>, you may receive the following error message: </code Load RVM
<code>
ERROR: While executing gem ... (Errno::EACCES)
    Permission denied - ~/.gem/specs
</code>

RVM doesn’t have permission to create the specs folder. To fix it, you’ll have to create this folder and then get full access to it.

<code>
sudo mkdir ~/.gem/specs
sudo chmod 777 ~/.gem/specs
</code>
