What makes working with PragProg so great?
Got something to share? We’ll help you say it better, and we’ll help you reach a wider audience.
Writing with PragProg means so much more than just getting published. It means having a team of experts guide you through the hard parts. It means working with editors, technical reviewers, and indexers who are driven to help you do your best work. It means taking your place among our catalog of award-wining titles. It means instant recognition and acknowledgement of your expertise. And, of course, it means being paid some of the highest royalties in publishing.
We’ve got the platform, partnerships, and power to help you share your knowledge with the world, and we want to hear from you.
You’ve probably seen our books, screencasts, audio books, and more. But did you know that we’ve also partnered with some of the best content platforms in the industry and that we can help you get your message out across an extensive range of formats?
Once you contact us, our author relations team will get to work helping you to develop your idea and identify the best uses for your content. Then, they’ll guide you through our proposals process, where you’ll receive input and feedback from a panel of industry experts that span the globe.
When it comes time to start writing, you’ll be paired with your own personal development editor from day one. Our editors are highly-trained, industry experts who can help you with every part of the publishing process — from your first draft all the way through to your first sale.
The best part is, getting started couldn’t be easier. All it takes is an email.
Because there are so many different ways to work with us, we’ve streamlined the process for you. Choose from the following options and shoot us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll take it from there!
Book Proposal - If you have a fully fleshed out idea for a book that you’d like to write and publish with us, download and complete the proposal template and then email it to us along with a fifteen- to twenty-page sample chapter. Please be sure to read through the following annotated examples to see what we’re looking for in your writing sample: Sample from Programming Clojure and Sample from The Passionate Programmer.
Book Pre-proposal - Have an early-stage book idea that you’d like feedback on before continuing? We’d be happy to help. Download and complete the pre-proposal template and email it over to us. Our author relations team will review your idea and get back to you.
Book Distribution - If you’ve already self-published your work and you’d like to find out about selling it on our website, too, we’d love to hear from you. Download and complete the distribution template and email it to us along with a copy of your complete manuscript. One of our author relations specialists will help you get your book to our proposals committee for discussion.
Short-Format Writing - Looking for an outlet for your short-format, high-quality, technical writing? We can help. Whether through our network of trusted partners or through one of our own initiatives to support authors wherever and however we can, we’ll help you connect with the right audience for your work. Download and complete the writers template and then email it in to us.
