My favorite book is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It is a novel of the realism genre and is based on a powerful portrayal of a young boy’s life in Dickensian England. The main character, Pip, has a mystery benefactor who will eventually give him ‘great expectations’ and the book takes the reader through his quest to find out who the benefactor is.
The moving plot is an excellent example of Dickens’s thrilling twists and turns, displaying the gritty reality of life with all its positive and negative aspects. In contrast to some of Dickens’s contemporary writers whose portrayal of reality were poor,[http://www.liveresumetemplates.com free resume template] this book is anything but predictable, involving the reader in every line, at once confusing and then enlightening. I highly recommend it as a gripping read from the very first page.
