| xvi | ERROR | The server doesn’t handle Windows paths correctly, making it impossible to browse through the examples (eg it converts paths to localhost:800/\\css3_animation/ which results in a 404 not found). The issue is fixed by changing lib\\server.js <a href=\\“” + (path.join(uri, “../”)) + “\\”>.. “); <a href=\\“” + (path.join(uri, “../”).replace(/\\\\/g, ‘/’)) + “\\”>.. "); And line 83: <a href=\\“” + (path.join(uri, file) + slash) + “\\”>" + (file + slash) + " “; <a href=\\“” + (path.join(uri, file).replace(/\\\\/g, ‘/’) + slash) + “\\”>" + (file + slash) + " "; | 2013-09-19 | I've tested the existing server on three separate versions of Windows now (Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 7, and Windows XP. I cannot reproduce the error you talk about. All file paths seem to work when started from the command prompt with 'node server' while in the book's `code` folder. c \nThe fix to the code above actually breaks things on OSX. \n \nIf this is still an issue, post to the book's forum with specific details and I'll try to sort it out. But with the version of NodeJS required in the book, this appears to work fine on Windows platforms. | |
