Maybe a good idea let send screenshots with design erratums.

Figure 4.2 is labeled as “Empty Sandbox”, which appears to just be a copy/paste error from figure 4.1.

Right under the heading, reference is made to figure 5.1 on page 29, but it’s actually on page 33.

“…an asyncronous method that can happen second or hours after the
transaction…” - “second” should be “seconds”.

Second paragraph - “Also note that f” should be “Also note that if”.

(P.S. Sorry for the incorrect PDF page numbering on my earlier errata - I’ve got it figured out now.)

in the last section on the page, first sentence, “great for the occational scenario…”.
Occasional is mispelled.

65ERROR

The code on this page should be showing what needs to be done in order to confirm the express checkout order, instead it just repeats the code from the previous example

All links to code are broken. For example:
http://media.pragprog.com/titles/jfpaypal/code/code/ProOption/PayPalHttpClientTest.rb

has an extra ‘/code’ in it.

The link that’s supposed to lead to the tutorial’s pp_controller.rb file returns a 404.

The Joe Asks sections look shifted down and overlap with the blue footer on the page. Can you pleas fix throughout and re-send the PDF?

45ERROR

Where it says “Save these lines and every thing between the mintoa new file called cert.keys” It should say “client.keys” to match up with the code usage.

49TYPO

TransationSearch should be TransactionSearch

33ERROR

In the “Submit Order Details” section there is a code excerpt for sending shopping-cart information to PayPal. The code is incorrect.

It states:

But should read:
<input … name=“item_name_1” … >

In addition, the following 2 entries (on page 34) also reference name=“amount_1” and name=“item_1”.

These should be name=“item_name_2” and name=“item_name_3” with the respective name=“amount_2” and name=“amount_3” entries.

20SUGGEST

Letting the reader know that a social security number is provided by the Sandbox User’s Guide would have saved me 10-15 minutes of time while trying to fill our the Business Account form. A mention of this fact or actually giving the reader the 111-nn-nnnn hint would have worked.

13TYPO

It is commonly accepted that apostrophes are NOT required after acronyms (eg. IDs, not ID’s):

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostrophe

I know it’s only a small mistake but it’s really annoying!

47TYPO

This document is out of date on many pages. Desperately needs an update.

8TYPO

under Email Payments: in the first sentence “drivien” should be “driven”

10TYPO

“Website Payments Standard has more protection from fraud, decreases you liability, ischeaper, and doesn’t require a monthly fee.”

It should be “[…] decreases your liability”, not “you liability”.

35TYPO

last paragraph: surely, it should say to set shipping_1 to 10, and shipping_2 (and shipping_3+) to 3.

71ERROR

The return code from PayPal is “SUCCESS” or “FAIL” (and not “FAILURE”).

12TYPO

In the “Joe Asks…” sidebar, “penney” should be “penny”. Also, the placement of the sidebar is suboptimal; the text runs into the blue border at the bottom of the page.

28TYPO

No forward slash in the body closing tag

:)

74ERROR

The code for IPN verification contains a bug.

‘raw + "&cmd=_notify-validate"' is wrong. According to the Paypal documentation, it's the other way around : it should be '&cmd=_notify-validate" + raw’.
